| Last night at 5:30 P.M. the Montrose FD were requested to respond to a smoke in a residential structure. The pre plan for calls like these, includes Buchanan FD, Verplanck FD to stand by in their respective headquarters.
Within minutes a Montrose chief arrived to see smoke coming from the side of the structure, he transmitted his first alarm assignment. This brought our Engine 160 to the scene. E-160 was the second due engine to arrive and laid in to supply additional water to the scene. Members assisted with primary searches.
After about one hour on scene E-160 cleared the scene and was placed on standby in the Montrose headquarters. While operating our headquarters was staffed to ensure coverage in the Village. |
