On Tuesday November 28th at 18:57HRS, the City of Peekskill fire chief transmitted a “10-75” assignment for a multi family house fire. This is a pre planned assignment that brings in multiple different departments with different assets to help extinguish a fire. This includes Buchanan FD’s Utility 12, a compressed breathing air truck.
Car 2552, and Utility 12 with three interior firefighters responded within minutes of the request. Members operated for over two hours, assisting with secondary searches and overhaul. Later in the incident Utility 4 our rehab bus was requested to help transport displaced residents to the Peekskill High School. During the whole duration of the incident our headquarters was staffed with additional members to cover the Village of Buchanan.
