At 0151 hours Monday morning Buchanan Fire was dispatched to a residence on Tate Ave. for reported smoke in the structure - the Tri-Village was activated and upon arrival of cars 2551 and 2552, a moderate smoke condition was found throughout the structure. It was confirmed all occupants were evacuated. E-160 took up the hydrant directly across from the address and members pulled an 1-3/4" attack line. Utility 12 staged near the circle. A 10-75 (working fire) was declared because the source of the smoke was not yet located. Montrose Ladder Tower 8 arrived on scene. Shortly thereafter the source of the smoke was discovered to be food burning on the stove. Members began venting the structure and utilizing a thermal imaging camera to check for extension of fire. All units placed back in service at 0233 hours. Thanks to our mutual aid companies for responding and standing by for us.
