Early this morning, our department was dispatched to a home on Bannon Avenue for a lightning strike. An off-duty firefighter arrived quickly, and notified Westchester County Fire Control the house was on fire. Assistant Chief Roush III arrived on scene within minutes, and transmitted a working structure fire assignment, a “10-75”.
A combined team effort with our mutual aid partners allowed us to quickly suppress this fire and contain the fire to a corner of the home, and prevent this fire from spreading to the rest of the house.
