Remembering Ex-Chief James Gilbert

Buchanan Engine Company #1, Inc. sadly announces the passing of Life Member, Ex-Chief and President of Buchanan Engine Company's Ex-Chief Association James E. Gilbert. Jimmy was the father of Cortlandt Engine Company 1st Assistant Chief Scott Gilbert. Chief Gilbert served the company as Chief in 1971-1973. He was an avid softball player for Buchanan Engine Company, a dedicated parade marcher, and chaired the parade committee for several years. Jimmy was known to make calls to everyone the night before a parade to encourage them (strongly) to march. Jimmy Gilbert was also die-hard Giants fan.
James E. Gilbert will be reposing at Carter Funeral Home, Kings Ferry Road, Montrose, NY. Friday, August 19th 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Department services will be held Friday, August 19th at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the Reformed Church of Cortlandtown, Montrose, NY.
