Drill at Fire Training Center
Lieutenant Kieran Outhouse, April 22
On April 22, 2017 members of the Buchanan Engine Company conducted a live fire drill at the Westchester County Fire Training. Members of the Verplanck Fire District and Continental Village Fire Department were invited and also attended. The propane tank simulator, Christmas Tree propane prop and the smoke house were utilized. Subjects covered were tank cooling/fire suppression, "bread and butter" ... (Full Story & Photos)

Mutual Aid to Croton
Lieutenant Kieran Outhouse, April 21
On April 20, 2017 our cascade was requested to the Village of Croton on S. Ledge Loop Road for a working structure fire. Due to the quick efforts of the Croton on Hudson Fire Department the fire was extinguished quickly. We remained on scene for 1 1/2 hours.
Our cascade vehicle (Utility 12) is the only cascade unit designated for that sole purpose in Northern Westchester. We have filled thousands ... (Full Story & Photos)

Mutual Aid Brush Fire to Ossining
April 15
On Saturday April 15 Car 2553 (Asst. Chief Faiella), Utility 161 and Utility 162 (ATV) responded mutual aid to a large structure fire/brush fire in Ossining. We assisted with extinguishment along with Ossining units several other mutual aid departments. The fire was in a remote location in the Cedar Manor area of the Town of Ossining.... Mutual Aid to Montrose
April 13
Today at 1503 hours we were dispatched to help out our neighbors in Montrose Fire Dept. for a brush fire at the Blue Mountain Sportsmen's Center -Car 2552 (Asst. Chief Outhouse) Utility 161 and UTV Utility 162 responded and assisted along with Verplanck FD and the Westchester County Police Aviation unit which provided water drops.
